The goals and purpose of the Museum District Business Alliance revolve around making the area more attractive for businesses, residents, investors by improving the public enjoyment of the area and combating community deterioration within the neartown communities. This effort more specifically includes promoting enterprise and the arts, both visual and performing, in the Montrose/Museum District.

                                            Montrose History

The Museum District is already famous for the great movie stars who once lived there and the museums that are full of ancient to modern historic work. But did you know there are places in the District where Kings and Princesses once visited and that the great composer

Richard Wagner graced?

The Museum District Business Alliance (MDBA)is about business, beauty and branding. We want to enhance your bottom line and our lifestyles by creating a more beautiful place where stunning beauty is recognized as the place to be in Houston.

The intersection of Westheimer and Montrose Blvd. is the heart of the Montrose/Museum District-the District extends West to Sheperd, East to Main Street, North to Allen Parkway and Downtown and South to Herman Park and the South Main/Medical Center.

Filled with sights and events urban but still characterized as a "Garden District" with neighborhoods full of trees and a traditional grid of single family residences rubbing elbows with high density towers and townhouses. You can walk to restaurants, theaters, museums and banks. Freedom Tower on the District's North side is the site of the memorial grave sites of men that died at the Battle of San Jacinto to the Heroes of the Republic of Texas.
